Internationally renowned swimmer Sarah Wellbrock has officially announced the end of her successful career. She announced the decision to retire for health reasons at the age of 28 via her Instagram account. Her retirement follows World Championship gold in South Korea in 2019 and a bronze medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where she set a new German record in 1500 metres freestyle.
Sarah Wellbrock, née Köhler, gained worldwide recognition during her career for her exceptional achievements and commitment to the sport of swimming. Her success and perseverance have inspired not only the swimming community but also her many fans.
