July 2021
Sarah Köhler crawls towards her dream: her first Olympic medal. She wins bronze in the 1,500-metre freestyle at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and thus wins the first German medal in pool swimming for 13 years.
With a time of 15:42.91, the vice world champion beats her German record by about six seconds and swims a German best time.
The entire ProMinent team congratulates Sarah Köhler on her great success. The Heidelberg-based company has always promoted young talents and has been supporting the young swimmer from the national team for years.
"I just took the chance," says Sarah Köhler overwhelmed after seeing the result on the scoreboard.
The freestyle specialist already has many national and international successes to her name. In 2014, she became German champion in the 800- and 1,500-metre freestyle. In 2016, she was the only German swimmer to qualify for the final at the Olympic Games in Rio, finishing eighth in the 800-metre freestyle. In 2017, she won gold in the 800-metre freestyle at the European Short Course Championships (25-metre track) in Copenhagen with a German record time.
